Summer Holiday 2019

The Summer Holiday for the UK Community will be held from Monday 22 - Saturday 27 July 2019 in La Thuile(TH La Thuile - Planibel Hotel and Residence, Frazione Entreves, 158, 11016 La Thuile AO, Italy).
During the Holiday, we will work on the content of the 2019 Fraternity Exercises.
On Monday 22 July, registration will open from 4 pm and the Holiday will officially start with dinner at 7.15 pm followed by an introduction and Mass. On Saturday 27 July, the holiday will finish before lunch time.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
La Thuile is at 1,450m altitude and the walks we will be doing are ‘proper walks’ and will reach 2,000m.
Therefore:
- Please pack walking boots as trainers are not suitable.
- Buggies are not suitable - If you have a baby-carrier or can borrow one this is the best way to carry babies during the walks. The ‘walks team’ will explain in more detail at the holiday.
- Note for newborns/babies (please read so you can decide accordingly) - Babies under 3 months and/or born prematurely should not be at an altitude of over 1,500m for a long time as they do not have mature enough lungs to handle the altitude stress. Babies over 3 months, born on time and healthy can go over 1,500 and up to 2,000m for a short period of time.
- Even if we are in Italy it might rain and it will be cold especially during the walks - please pack accordingly.
Finally, please remember to bring with you:
- Book of Hours
- Songs Book
- Suitable walking/playing shoes/boots and clothes
- Sun cream
- Sun glasses
- Swimming costumes (the hotel has a swimming pool available for guests)
- Picnic blanket (we are planning to have lunch outside)
- Raincoat
