Politics, Essential Dimension Of Civil Coexistence

In his speech in Cesena’s Piazza del Popolo on October 1, 2017, Pope Francis offered us a vision of politics that we find will be vital in facing the upcoming elections. We propose his words as a working hypothesis for all, to be verified in each person’s encounters and dialogues with whomever they meet.

SUMMER HOLIDAY 2017

Summer Holiday of the UK CL Community
Saturday 22nd July to Thursday 27th July 2017 at St. Andrews

I understand what a person truly wants not from his work or studies, which he has to do out of social pressure or necessity, but from how he uses his free time. Vacation time is the noblest time of the year, because it is the moment when one becomes as involved as he likes in the value he recognizes as dominant for his life, or he doesn’t get involved in anything at all. L. Giussani

For you, for each of you for me. It is a love which is powerful and real. It is a love which heals, forgives, raises up and shows concern. When Jesus becomes part of our lives, we can no longer remain imprisoned by our past. Instead, we begin to look to the present, and we see it differently, with a different kind of hope. If there are times when we experience sadness, when we’re in a bad way, when we’re depressed or have negative feelings, in His eyes there is a place for us.
Without the awareness of this gaze and its predilection for me and for you, there is no Christmas! We would be left with an empty ritual, like the many things we do that bring us no joy.

When have we realised the preference of God for us in this period?

NEWMAN EXHIBITION

In September 2010 Benedict XVI visited Great Britain. It was a historic moment for the whole country, for the Catholic Church, and for the community of CL. In particular, the Pope invited everybody to look at the figure at the figure of John Henry Newman, especially because Newman was “a modern man, who lived the whole problem of modernity”, and because he saw that all of us have a lot to learn from Newman’s three conversions. As a response to this invitation, we decided to prepare an exhibition on John Henry Newman, that was displayed at the Meeting of Rimini 2011.

The aim of the exhibition is to trace Newman's threefold journey of conversion by proposing a biographical and thematic path, from which it emerges that conscience was the driving force of Newman’s journey towards the certainty of truth: ex umbris et imaginibus in veritatem (“out of shadows and illusions into truth”).

The Newman exhibition is now currently being displayed around the UK (and Sweden) and is available for (free) hiring for communities and parishes.
